What you need to know about the new museum opening at the Tampa Museum of Art

The new Tampa Museum in downtown Tampa is scheduled to open its doors in June, bringing the Tampa chapter of the American Society of Photojournalists (ASPH) to its first ever location.

The new museum, located on the former site of the former Tampa Convention Center, is designed to “reclaim” space once occupied by the Tampa Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Tampa Police Department.

The museum is the largest of its kind in the country, and its opening will coincide with the opening of the Tampa Art Museum, a free, open-air art and design exhibition featuring contemporary art.

The Tampa Art Gallery, opened in 2011, is a world-class collection of contemporary art that features work by the likes of Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and Paul Oakenfold.
